

BRICS STI Framework Programme

of the
1st coordinated call for BRICS innovation projects 2025
As one of the BRICS STI Framework Programme special actions innovation funding organizations from the BRICS countries have agreed to jointly establish a new call for multilateral innovation projects.
Following a bottom-up approach this action will support multinational collaborative projects with duration up to 3 years, involving participants from BRICS countries focused on technology maturation, development of a business model towards the innovation’s future commercialization and market deployment.
Applicants will be requested to submit project proposals built on validated in lab or in relevant environment technology.
The following BRICS STI Framework Programme Member Organizations are currently exploring an opportunity to participate in the call as funding agencies:
- Brazilian Innovation Agency (Finep, Brazil);
- National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq, Brazil);
- Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST, China);
- Science, Technology & Innovation Funding Authority (STDF, Egypt);
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR, India);
- Department of Biotechnology (DBT, India);
- Department of Science and Technology (DST, India);
- Iran National Innovation Fund (INIF, Iran);
- Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (FASIE, Russia);
- Technology Innovation Agency (TIA, South Africa);
- Water Research Commission (WRC, South Africa).
The announcement of the call and start of application submission period is scheduled for August 2025. More details will be available in the call announcements published on BRICS STI Framework Programme website and information resources of the BRICS STI FP Member Organizations.
